Unable to import ebooks.

Hi,

I'm using the same Adobe account in my phone and my tablet (both Android). In my phone everything works fine. I'm importing books without any problem. On the other hand in my tablet, after some months of normal operation, Adobe Digital Editions, is not able to handle ebooks (acsm hyperlinks). When I select to import an acsm file I receive an message saying "Please wait while importing content..." and the book is never imported (even after hours!). I have uninstalled/reinstalled ADE and I have deactivated/activated my Adobe account, without success. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

New email adresse, can't open e-books any more

Hello.

 

I just got an new email adresse and I also changed it at my Adobe account (no new account, I just changed my adresse). Now I get an error report trying to open drm-protected ebooks ("not the same email adresse, ..."). Can someone please help me?

Computer hangs on authorization

Dear all,

After replacing a crashed hard disk I tried to reinstall DE under Windows 10 (as an administrator). DE gets installed, but it does not show up in the list of applications; I have added it manually, but I wonder if this is signalling that something is wrong in the installation.

The real issue is that my computer now hangs if I try to authorize it (with a valid Adobe id).

I would appreciate any help.

Adobe ID works on Windows PC but not on Android Phone

I downloaded the ADE app onto my Samsung Android Phone. I wanted to authorize the device and I used the same credentials I use on my PC. The ADE works OK on the PC but on the phone I got the message "Username or password incorrect".

E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_OPEN_ERROR

I've bought a new e-book and everytime I try to open it with Digital Editions the download process stops just before finishing and I get this message: "E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT-OPEN_ERROR"  or "E_10_CANNOT_OPEN"  Additionally DigitalEditions crashes sometimes

I didn't change my Windows version 7 (just installed the common security updates)

I already tried these options: uninstall-reinstall, update DigitalEditions to 4.59, try to run it with the Windows compatibility assistant. Nothing works out.

I've already searched for solutions in community-forums but without success. (There are more people with the same problem, but they had changed to Windows 10 before. I didn't do this.)

The e-book I had bought and downloaded before still work.

If anybody has an idea how to solve this bug, many people (including me) would be very happy.

Updated version of Adobe Digital Editions

When I open ADE 3.0, I receive the following message:

 

 

“Adobe Digital Editions 3.0.app” is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated.

 

This app will not work with future versions of macOS and needs to be updated to improve compatibility. Contact the developer for more information.

 

 

I am trying now to contact the developer for more information.

Apparaat autoriseren

We hebben net een Kobo e-Reader gekocht. En om daar boeken op de lezen, die je hebt gedownload via Adobe Digital Editions, moet je eerst je apparaat autoriseren met je Adobe ID. Als we de e-Reader aansluiten en willen autoriseren, krijgen we elke keer een foutmelding:

 

Fout activeringsserver

code: E_ADEPT_USER_UNKNOWN .....

Digital Editions heeft een fout gedetecteerd op de activeringsserver.

 

Deze foutmelding kregen we gisteren ook al.

Wat moeten we doen om dat op te lossen?

e-book authentication (e.g. using Shibboleth)

I get e-books via my university library. To use them at home, I have to use Shibboleth authentication (which has largely taken over from Athens for the UK university federation, but I know there are numerous similar schemes around the world). Most of our e-books are only borrowable for 24 hours, but I can't finish reading (and taking notes) on a complete book in a single day. To renew them, I have to go back to my university library website, log-in again, open the book online (I can't "borrow" them until I've done this), and download the acsm file again. When Adobe Digital Editions Opens it tells me that the book (i.e. the one I borrowed yesterday) cannot be found and offers to delete it from my library. It then downloads the same title and treats it as a new book, and doesn't remember where I was up to.

 

Is there anyway to "renew" a loan from within ADE? (I'm running the most recent Windows version)? Or, if not, does anyone know whether there is any way to reqest a feature from Adobe?

eReader not Authorized - errors after getting new computer

Recently purchased Mac (previously Windows-based - not sure if this is relevant though!). Installed ADE, and borrowed library book. Was able to download book onto computer, into ADE, and transfer to Kobo. However, when attempting to open on Kobo, it gave an error that I did not have rights to open the book, and that I needed to authorize (I think... didn't think it write it down).

After searching online, I tried erasing authorization of both Kobo and computer, and re-authorizing both. I then couldn't even download a book to ADE. I was told to delete everything, and try starting over. I am now able to download the library book on my computer to ADE, and copy it to my Kobo.

However when I try to open it on my Kobo, I receive the error:

"Your ereader is not authorized to open this book. This book is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM). Because you previously deauthorized your ereader, you need to re-import the book using ADE". I have done this multiple times, and still can't open the book.

How do I fix this?

Problem trying to download the EPUB version of a book I am borrowing

I have borrowed a book from archive.org, for a fortnight, which I have been reading on my tablet using Adobe Digital Editions.  There is an option to download the EPUB version of it; when I click on this a file is sent to my tablet and is named UTLLink.acsm.  If I do it again, I get another file, named UTLLink(2).acsm. And if I do it again, I get another file, named UTLLink(3).acsm.  And so on.  My problem is that when I select any of these files, Adobe Digital Editions opens with an error message that reads as follows:

"Unable to download

Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:

E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED"

So the download doesn't happen.  So I don't get he EPUB version of the book I am borrowing.  And I don't know how to overcome this obstacle - which seems not to be of my making.

In May of 2014, I move to Vancouver, Canada from Quebec City, Canada.At that time, I got a new email address and cancelled the one I had in Quebec City. In 2015 I moved to Ottawa, Canada and kept the same email address.

 

At that time also, I updated my Adobe account to the new email and reauthorized ADE on my desktop computer, my iPad and iPhone with the updated account.

Since early December I can't download DRM books on my iPad. It had been working properly for years.I reauthorized the iPad, deleted Bluefire Reader, and turned off the iPad.I then restarted the iPad, installed Bluefire Reader, and tried to authorized it.
It wouldn't accept my Adobe id and password. The message below shows why. What is to be done to get Bluefire Reader to work?

Kobo e-reader niet meer zichtbaar na verbinden met iMac

Sinds enige tijd is de kobo auro e-reader na aansluiten met usb kabel en op verbinden klikken niet meer als apparaat zichtbaar op de iMac in Finder. De versies die ik gebruik zijn Kobo Auro e-reader (version 4.12.12111) en i-Mac (macOS Mojave 10.14.2).

 

Intussen is de e-reader al een keer terug gezet naar de fabrieksinstellingen en heb ADE4.5 door versie 3.0 vervangen.  Maar niets helpt.

 

Computer aurorisatie verwijderen lukt ook niet: alleen andere hoofd account kiezen kan wel.

 

Ik kan dus de e-reader wel verbinden maar omdat die niet zichtbaar is, kan deze ook niet veilig uitgeworpen worden.

 

Hoe ik krijg ik de Auro weer met de iMac zichtbaar verbonden zodat ik weer e-books kan toevoegen?

After successfully using ADE to download purchased epubs for several years using the same computer, I now get the this message:

 

Unable to Download

Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:

E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12

 

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Nook Error Message

I have gone through every process to get my nook to read a downloaded library book but I still keep getting the "Loan token not found" error message. Both my computer and Nook are authorized, and I've deleted the adobe file off of the nook and restarted but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Transferring PDF files to Computer from IPAD

I have an IPAD pro and have few PDF documents on IPAD that, I   downloaded using Safari, and made them be available for reading via Adobe Digital editions. These are DRM free documents.

 

I connected my IPAD to my computer , and attempted to transfer these PDF documents to  my computer using iTunes via the file sharing feature. Unfortunately, in the file sharing window of Itunes, I am able to view only  epub documents that were exist on the IPAD but the PDF documents are NOT being shown.

 

Can someone please suggest, a way to transfer these PDF documents to computer or am I stuck reading them only on IPAD.

ADE installed on new computer will not accept previous Kobo *.ascm files

I bought a new desktop (Windows 10) after my old one died. I installed ADE and authorized my new desktop. When I try to copy over 100 *.ascm files of books I'd bought from Kobo.com, and that were on my "backup drive", ADE gives error message:

"Unable to download

Error getting license. License Server Communication Problem.

E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED-BY-ANOTHER_USER"

 

I then bought another book on Kobo.com; back in "My Books", I then clicked on "Download" and again on "Download" and was offered the option of "Read in ADE". When I clicked on that, the book *was* accepted into ADE's library.

 

Is there any way of getting my over 100 titles that *were* in ADE (on old computer) back into ADE on new computer?

Authorization Problems

I have recently switched computers... from Windows to a MAC. On my old computer I had Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 and I have now downloaded ADE 4.5 on my MAC.  The problem is that even though I can see library books on my eReader,  I keep getting a message that my eReader is not authorized to open the book... even though in Settings I can clearly see that the eReader is authorized.  I have removed ADE 3.0 from my old computer - prior to removal, I deauthorized that computer.  I have reinstalled ADE 4.5 on my MAC and even installed ADE 3.0.  I have authorized and deauthorized and then re-authorized again, rebooted - returned the book and re-borrowed, re-loaded etc.  But nothing works.  I can open the book on my computer.  I've added the Libby app to my phone... so it's not a question of whether I properly borrowed the book.  but it will not allow me to open on Kobo.  Very frustrating.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Highlights in Digital Edition

I downloaded the app yesterday and highlighted text on a good number of pages. Today, all the my previous highlights are still there. I carried on working today on more pages and highlighted additional texts. the app seems to have crashed and I lost all today's highlights; is there a way of recovering those?
