I assume the book I downloaded should be searchable, but digital editions does not search within the book, not very helpful for a text book, all of my other books are searchable, any advice, the book shows as a PDF but can only be read in digital editions DRM

I downloaded a book back in 2015 on a computer that I no longer have. I do not believe I selected to authorize the computer, not realizing at the time that I would need to authorize the computer to be able to download the book onto other devices (my fault, I know). Jump to 2019, I have a new computer, and I cannot download the book because of my error; it pops up with "E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER" - that other user was my old computer. I purchased the book through Books-A-Million, so it's still in my library, but I can only open it with Adobe Digital Editions. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Digital Editions S*CKS BALLS! WTF?!?! It is impossible to zoom, scroll or move the document with 16 Gigs of RAM, a PCIe SSD and an i7 8th Gen. Fix it! Support !

I have been trying to open a book I purchased forever and it is not working. In addition, it is impossible to speak to anyone and get help from Adobe, nor is it possible to get help through chat. The product is Adobe digital editions 4.5. I bought a book it said I needed to download and install it to my Mac, I did. When I try to open the download I can't. I can see it in my apps on the Mac but can't click on digital editions to choose it to read the ebook so I can't read the ebook. This is extremely frustrating. I need assistance.
I can't load ACSM files into Digital Editions. (see errors below).
I repeated the following steps to resolve the issue three times.
NOTE: A 2nd computer is running Digital Editions without an issue.

I have purchased an ebook awhile ago and used my old PC to download and read it. I didn't authorize a particular account but the PC. I have the pdf file on the SSD of the old PC, but when I add it to the ADE library of the new PC, I get an error "Document is licensed for another user account".
Could you please advise how to access the book?

After authorizing my device with my Adobe ID, I try to download the ebook but I receive a message saying "E_LYC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER".
I am double-cheking who this user is and it is me. How can I solve this?
Adobe support referred me to here, just in case anyone suggests me to talk to them.

When I want to to start Digital Editions most of the time it does not open. It tries to but kind of freezes at a certain point of the process.
When conditions are perfect - and it is not possible to say what they are - it will sometimes successfully work.

I subscribe to Adobe's PDF Pack program. I have combined files in the past without any troubles. However, since yesterday, I cannoy combine files due to a constant error, "Could not complete your request (400). An error occurred while trying to complete your request, and it could not be completed."
Is this error due to a down server on the Adobe side of the program? If Adobe does not have any services that are down, then why am I getting these errors now?! I've been combining .pdf files for the past 4+ months without any troubles. Why am I now getting a "(400)" error code when trying to combine .pdf files?
